The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 44th consecutive day, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.869, its lowest amount since Feb. 24.
The average price in Los Angeles County has dropped 31 cents during the streak, including a half-cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 19.8 cents lower than one month ago and two-tenths of a cent below what it was one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 48-day streak from Oct. 10-Nov. 26, 2012.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 43rd time in 44 days today, decreasing a half-cent to $3.833, its lowest amount since Feb. 21.
The Orange County average price is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 20.5 cents lower than one month ago and 1 cent below what it was one year ago.
