The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 42nd consecutive day, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.876, its lowest amount since Feb. 25.
The average price in Los Angeles County has dropped 30.3 cents during the streak, including three-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 2.7 cents less than one week ago, 21.2 cents lower than one month ago and four-tenths of a cent below what it was one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 48-day streak from Oct. 10-Nov. 26, 2012.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 41st time in 42 days today, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.843, its lowest amount since Feb. 22.
The Orange County average price is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 22.1 cents lower than one month ago and 1 cent below what it was one year ago.
