Two men attacked V. Stiviano, the ex-mistress of Donald Sterling, as she left a New York City restaurant Sunday night, her lawyer said in remarks reported June 2.
Stiviano, whose recording of comments about African Americans by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling led to his banishment from the NBA, was assaulted about 7 p.m. on June 1 by two men near the Gansevoort Hotel in the meat-packing district of Manhattan, said attorney Mac Nehoray.
Nehoray told CNN that the Stiviano’s face was swollen as a result of the attack. He told Radar Online, which first reported the story, that the 31-year-old Stiviano was attacked by two white men “who called her the N word.”
“The two men who attacked her punched her on the right side of her face several times,” Nehoray told the New York Daily News.
A bouncer at the hotel said Stiviano got caught in the middle of a brawl in front of the hotel, the Daily News reported.
