The northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway will be closed in various areas in the Sepulveda Pass for four nights beginning April 24.
Ramp closures will begin around 7 p.m. each night, with some lanes being blocked beginning around 10 p.m. The northbound freeway closures will occur from about midnight until 5 a.m. the following morning.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, the northbound freeway will be closed from Skirball Center Drive to Greenleaf Street.
The closures are planned so crews can install overhead freeway signs.
Known as the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project, construction on the 405 freeway on the Westside and into the San Fernando Valley has been a regular occurrence for a few years now.
The tearing down and reconstruction of the Mulholland Bridge near Bel-Air caused one of the most advertised freeway closures ever, with the media referring to a weekend-long closure as “Carmageddon.”
Construction along the 405 freeway is expected to continue through the year.
