A partner at the Century City office of Greenberg Glusker was recognized April 15 by Variety as a top entertainment attorney working in film, television, theater, and digital media, it was announced.

Aaron Moss, who is part of Greenberg Glusker’s intellectual property group, was reportedly named to Variety’s 2014 “Legal Impact Report.” According to the law firm, the list recognizes 50 attorneys from around the world who represent clients in film, television, theater and digital media and “whose recent deals and court battles have changed the shape of entertainment.”

The list of attorneys appeared in the April 15 issue of Variety.

“Aaron’s work in protecting the rights of owners and users of creative works has made him one of the most sought-after IP lawyers in the entertainment industry,” Greenberg Glusker managing partner Bob Baradaran said in a released statement.

Baradaran added Moss his the fifth attorney from Greenberg Glusker to be recognized on the Variety Legal Impact Report. Other Greenberg Glusker attorneys who were previously recognized on the list included Bonnie Eskenazi, Bert Fields, Matt Galsor, and Stephen Smith.

Moss had worked on several high-profile cases during his time at Greenberg Glusker. For example, he represented Tom Cruise in his defamation against the publisher of In Touch and Life & Style Weekly, a pair of supermarket tabloids.

Similarly, Moss managed to have Star Magazine to issue a front cover apology to Katie Holmes in an alleged defamation matter.

He also defended Costco Wholesale Corp. against watch manufacturer Omega in a copyright infringement matter.

Others represented by Moss in intellectual property or related matters included Marvel, the estates of The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling and J.R.R. Tolkien (in separate matters), Universal Pictures, and Dustin Hoffman.

More information about Moss’ highlighted caseload can be found on his profile page.

According to Greenberg Glusker, the Variety list marks the second time this month Moss has been honored by a publication.

The Daily Journal, a newspaper specifically dedicated to covering the law industry, had named Moss as one of the top intellectual property attorneys in California. Moss made the list for the fourth consecutive year and five times overall.

A graduate of UCLA and Harvard Law School, Moss was a board member of the Los Angeles Copyright Society. He also served on the executive committee for the Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and was a member of the Law Firm Advisory Board for the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel.

Located at 1900 Avenue of the Stars in Century City, Greenberg Glusker is formally known as “Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman and Machtinger.” Founded in 1959, the firm has about 100 attorneys.
