Actor-comedian Tommy Davidson will host Homeboy Industries’ first-ever event in Beverly Hills this week, as ‘Transformation Stories Live’ comes to H.O.M.E. 90210 the evening of March 25.

It is also Homeboy Industries’ first-ever foray into the entire Westside region.

The event will feature former gang members sharing their respective stories of how Homeboy Industries helped them recalibrate themselves to lead productive lives.

“This evening of captivating true tales about the real life experiences of former gang-involved men and women will inspire, fascinate and inform, shedding light on an organization that is tackling some of Los Angeles’ most entrenched social problems,” the non-profit organization stated about the event.

Attendance to “Transformation Stories Live” is free; a reception starts at 6:30 p.m. while the program commences at 7:30 p.m.

H.O.M.E. 90210 is at 430 North Camden Drive in Beverly Hills; parking is available for $5 in an adjacent structure.

Any donations made will benefit Homeboy Industries’ “efforts to sustain free programs and services for their underprivileged trainees.”

Some of the services Homeboy Industries provides include employment and legal assistance, a certification and training program in solar panel installation, and tattoo removal, among others.

Based in Los Angeles near Chinatown, Homeboy Industries helps former gang members learn academic, personal, and professional skills. The non-profit also operates Homeboy Bakery, Homegirl Café and Catering, a restaurant at its headquarters, Homeboy Silkscreen and Embroidery, and Homeboy Diner at LAX. Homeboy Grocery licenses Homeboy-branded chips and salsa sold at Ralphs and other grocers.

Davidson, a standup comedian who also starred in In Living Color, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, and The Proud Family, will emcee the event.

A second event could be added for March 24 if the Tuesday evening event reaches capacity.

For more information about Tuesday evening’s event or to find out more about Homeboy Industries, please visit the non-profit’s website.
