Through funding set aside by the County of Los Angeles, the City of Malibu will host Marin in the Civic Theatre at Malibu City Hall (23825 Stuart Ranch Road) on Wednesday, June 4, at 7:00 PM.

Since Marin’s breakthrough as one half of the widely acclaimed comedic duo, Cheech and Chong, he has appeared in more than 50 films and television shows that include The Lion King, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Spy Kids, Tin Cup, and Cars.

Marin has directed films, appeared on numerous comedy record albums, authored children’s books, and has become a noted collector of Chicano Art. Marin directed the Broadway production Latinologues, a collection of comedic and poignant monologues revealing the Latino experience in America. Marin received an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts for his contributions to the creative arts from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, and was honored with the inaugural Legacy Award for Arts Advocacy from the Smithsonian Latino Center. The American Latino Media Arts Awards recognized him for his contributions to music, television, and film in 2012.

Marin has also appeared in films such as Desperado, The Perfect Game, and Machete as well as the television show Nash Bridges opposite Don Johnson. The 67-year-old actor most recently appeared on an episode of Anger Management and also lent his voice to the upcoming film, The Book of Life.
