LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped eight-tenths of a cent today to $2.96, the third consecutive decrease after rising two-tenths of a cent to its highest amount since Jan. 14.
The average price is 1.4 cents less than a week ago and 58.4 cents lower than one year ago but 8.6 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price dropped four- tenths of a cent on Wednesday and six-tenths of a cent on Thursday.
The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent today to $2.953 one day after decreasing seven-tenths of a cents. It is 1.2 cents less than one week ago and 53.4 cents lower than one year ago but 10.3 cents higher than one month ago.
