More than 800 gorgeously garbed guests were in attendance at Norby Walters 26th Annual Oscar Awards Viewing Gala. Among these were 100 Academy film and TV stars, many whom voted for the Oscar show.
Some of these stars include Jake Busey, Diane Ladd, Robert Forster, Gary Marshall, John Savage, and a slew of sexy sirens and supermodels. Speaking of same, high-profile attorney Gloria Allred came with her supermodel client, Beverly Johnson. No sightings of Bill Cosby (thank God). We understand that PR pro Ed Lozzi even banned items from Cosby, Phil Spector, and O.J. Simpson from the Hollywood & Sports Memorabilia display in the silent auction.
Billionaire designer Peter Nygard once again underwrote the event, and he arrived with a bevy of beauties sporting his world-famous Slims leggings. We all were treated to a pair of these. Now if only they fit my bodacious derriere.
One of our favorite celeb couples, Lou and Carla Ferrigno, were seen enjoying the gourmet sit-down dinner, as well as another celeb couple, former Oscar nominees Renee Taylor and Joe Bologna. Nice to see so many long-time married mates at this soiree. Guess that may be what really attracts me to Norby’s party. What better experience than viewing the Oscars with stars of substance? Who says Hollywood is all a facade?
A couple of weeks before the Oscars, Doris Bergman presented her 8th Annual Oscar Style Lounge at Hollywood hotspot Fig & Olive on Melrose Place. This star-studded event was hosted by The Auto
Gallery and presented by Maserati and Center for Aesthetic Dentistry. Among the myriad of marvelous merchandise offered to the overflowing crowd of Oscar-nominated actors, winners, presenters, and stylists were couture gowns, fashion forward footwear, bespoke tuxedos and suits, an array of skin and hair care, stunning jewelry, and gorgeous accessories.
Among celebs in attendance were Brionne Davis (“Embrace of the Serpent”), Vanessa Cloke (“Spotlight”), Eva La Rue, Steven Bauer (“Ray Donovan”), and a cadre of celebs including Frank Stallone, who fell in love with Samiah Fine Clothing. Guests and sponsors donated unwrapped gifts for young adults to benefit Wednesday’s Child. This organization serves to place children in the L.A. County foster care system, a most worthy cause, indeed.
