Playboy magazine will unveil tomorrow at its Super Bowl party in San Francisco the first publication in decades that doesn’t feature explicit nudity in the pages of the magazine.
Playboy announced last fall it would stop displaying full nudity in its March 2016 issue — on newsstands Feb. 12.
Over the past six months, Playboy’s editorial team has been redesigning, using as a guide the literary emphasis of the 1960s Playboy as their guiding light.
The March cover model is Snapchat/Instagram personality Sarah McDaniel; the March Playmate is Dree Hemingway, whose mother, actress Mariel Hemingway, appeared in Playboy in 1982.
Artist and model Myla Dalbesio is featured in a composite of her own photos.
Highlights of the new Playboy magazine include:
Francofile: A high-profile interview every month by actor James Franco.
Playboy Advisor: The column will now be written by a woman, columnist Rachel Rabbit White.
Artist In Residence: Each month will feature an original artist. For March it’s artist and cartoonist Jay Howell.
No Filter: Featuring a woman making waves in entertainment.
