Cheryl Boone Isaacs was re-elected to a second one-year term as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
last night by the organization’s Board of Governors.
Jeffrey Kurland was elected first vice president after being vice president, Leonard Engelman re-elected as vice president and John Bailey elected as a vice president. Dick Cook was re-elected as treasurer and Bill Kroyer was elected secretary.
Boone Isaacs is beginning her 22nd year as a governor representing the Public Relations Branch. She is the organization’s first black president and first woman to hold the presidency since Fay Kanin, the president from 1979 to 1983.
Boone Isaacs heads CBI Enterprises, Inc., where she has consulted on marketing efforts on such films as “The Call,” “The Artist,” “The King’s Speech,” “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire,” “Spider-Man 2” and “Tupac: Resurrection.”
Boone Isaacs previously served as president of theatrical marketing for New Line Cinema and executive vice president of worldwide publicity for Paramount Pictures.
