The Los Angeles Police Department advised drivers to avoid an area near Los Angeles’ border with Beverly Hills and portions of Hancock Park today because of President Barack Obama’s visit.
Specific areas to avoid are:
— The area around La Brea Avenue and Olympic Boulevard between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.;
— The area around Beverly Boulevard and Doheny Drive between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.;
— The area around Third Street and Rossmore Avenue between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and
— The area around Beverly Boulevard and Doheny Drive between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
There will also be hard street closures along Rimpau Boulevard between Edgewood Place and Olympic Boulevard, and Olympic Boulevard between Rimpau Boulevard and West Boulevard.
In addition to an area near Los Angeles’ border with Beverly Hills, drivers should also avoid the northern parts of Brentwood and an area south of downtown Los Angeles Thursday.
Specific areas to avoid Thursday are:
— The area around Beverly Boulevard and Doheny Drive between 4 a.m. and 5 p.m.;
— The area around Sunset Boulevard and Mandeville Canyon Road from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.;
— The area around Sunset Boulevard and Barrington Avenue from 10 a.m. and noon;
— The area around Grand Avenue and West Washington Boulevard from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and
— The area around Figueroa Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
There will also be hard street closures along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Hoover Street and Figueroa Street; Figueroa Street between Exposition Park Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; Washington Boulevard between Flower Street and Grand Avenue; Flower Street between Washington Boulevard and 23rd Street; and Grand Avenue between Washington Boulevard and 23rd Street.
