Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas today strongly urged young adults, senior citizens and families with children to sign up for affordable healthcare coverage at Covered California’s health insurance enrollment event at West Los Angeles College (WLAC) on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
“Now is the time to get the health insurance that you and your family members need. Neither you nor your children can be turned down if you have a pre-existing medical condition. Covered California can help you sign up for health insurance at a monthly rate you can afford from top-rated health providers: Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, L.A. Care, and Molina Healthcare,” Ridley-Thomas said. “If you work, but don’t qualify for health insurance from your employer, don’t worry. Covered California can help you enroll in a health plan that won’t bust your budget. It’s health insurance for the rest of us.”
Ridley-Thomas serves on the Assembly Health Committee.
The deadlines to enroll for health insurance for 2014 through Covered California is March 15 (to start receiving coverage on April 1) and March 31 (to start receiving coverage on May 1).
WLAC’s three-hour Covered California enrollment event will take place in the campus’ Fine Arts Complex from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with free parking available in WLAC’s South Parking Structure. WLAC is located at 9000 Overland Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230.
