Our juveniles and young adults appear to be following the story line of a recently released movie called “Project X†. These parties quickly escalate, into out of control anarchy. The parties are promoting irresponsible behavior, to uncontrollable mayhem.
Juveniles and young adults break into vacant homes, homes where the owners are out of town, and homes where the residents have OK’D the parties. The word is spread by social media like texting, Facebook, Twitter and the old fashioned way of word of mouth.
Large numbers of young adults show up at the location, and increase every minute to upwards of 500 individuals. They try to be as outrageous as possible. Alcohol consumption, drug use, fighting, loud music, can result in thousands of dollars in thefts and damages to property.
Everyone wants to believe their child would never get involved in anything like this. But, when you or your attorney are pleading with a Judge or Commissioner on how wonderful and special your child is and how they could not be involved or that they did not understand what was going on and that they are not responsible for what other children do…
The bottom line is, if they are at one of these parties, they could be arrested, cited, named in a crime report, or be a victim of a crime.
