ALPR System Alerts Officers to Wanted Vehicle and Suspect
Culver City Police apprehended a suspect connected to a homicide case after an automated license plate reader camera (ALPR) system identified a vehicle wanted by another law enforcement agency.
The alert was triggered on Wednesday afternoon, prompting officers to attempt a traffic stop.
The driver of the vehicle fled, leading to a brief pursuit that ended near the 5900 block of Green Valley Circle. The suspect then abandoned the car and attempted to escape on foot. After a short foot chase, officers successfully detained the individual.
The arrested suspect is believed to be the person wanted in a homicide investigation in a neighboring Los Angeles area. Authorities praised the coordinated efforts of all involved in the successful capture.
