New Beverly Hills resident Ling Li, is a Chinese pop star that rose to prominence after her second-place performance in the 2005 season of Star of Hope contest, a national singing competition in the People’s Republic of China.
Li broke away from the Chinese pop scene by combining elements of R&B and Jazz. Winner of numerous awards, Li’s voice has been compared with other singers such as Beyonce and Christina Aguilera.
She is one of the few Chinese artists ever to be signed to an American company and her debut album is due to release in fall of 2015.
Since moving to Los Angeles she has been active in various charities, and she holds a spot in the event committee of LA’s Best, a nationally recognized after school enrichment program that partners with the LA Mayor’s office.
The music scene anxiously awaits the release of the first U.S. single of this latest Chinese import.
