The Southern California Gas Company has begun replacing and hydrotesting a section of one its natural gas pipelines in Brentwood.
The project began August 7 and will continue through late December, so expect traffic delays in the area during work hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with extended hours set to take place on Milestone days.
SoCal Gas says the work is part of the company’s system-wide plan to further enhance the safety of the local pipelines.
In addition to traffic delays, SoCal Gas says while it “strives to minimize the impacts to the community; those near a work site might hear work-related noise and occasionally notice a natural gas odor. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we conduct these pipeline safety activities in your area.”
Construction will take place on South Sepulveda Boulevard between Sepulveda Way and Casiano Road, just north of Sunset Boulevard.
