The UCLA women’s soccer team will play its annual Breast Cancer Awareness game Thursday against Washington at Drake Stadium, wearing special pink uniforms.
The uniforms will later be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting breast cancer awareness and research. Fans wearing pink to the 5 p.m. game will receive free admission.
The Bruins (10-3-1, 4-1-1 in Pac-12 Conference play) are ninth in the Top Drawer Soccer poll, 12th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America rankings and 13th in the Soccer America poll.
UCLA is led by freshman midfielder Jessie Fleming, who has a team-high eight goals and 18 points. Fleming was a member of the bronze medal-winning Canadian team in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Following the women’s game, the Bruins men’s team will face California at 8 p.m. One ticket is good for both games. The UCLA men’s team (7-4-1, 3-2) is 16th in the Soccer America poll, 24th in the NSCAA rankings and entered the Top Drawer Soccer poll at 25th this week.
