Los Angeles’ homeless population has grown amid the housing crisis of recent years. Encampments have taken over some public spaces in the city, and officials have finally pledged to do something. Both the city and the county have devised homelessness plans and are promoting ballot measures that would fund them at least partially. Panelists include officials such as Deputy Director of LA County Public Social Services Phil Ansell, as well as City Administrator Miguel Santana. The panel is to take place at 11301 Olympic Boulevard, with registration opening at 7:15 am. Registration fees are $40 for members, $55 for nonmembers, $10 for student members and $15 for student nonmembers. For more information, or to register early, visit westsideurbanforum.com.
