A man was fatally shot early this morning in an apparent gang-related attack in South Los Angeles, and sheriff’s detectives were searching for his killer, authorities said..
The shooting took place in the 11100 block of South Vermont Avenue at about 1:30 a.m., according to sheriff’s Lt. Mike Rosson.
The 31-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he died, the sheriff’s department reported. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
According to the preliminary investigation, the man was walking on a sidewalk when he was shot, in what detectives believe was a gang-related attack.
