Brentwood is all ready hungry for the opening of its latest seafood restaurant, Bottlefish, which has taken over the shuttered Daily Grill’s spot at 11677 San Vicente Blvd.

Coming by way of Richard Rosenfield and Larry Flax, the duo behind California Pizza Kitchen, Bottlefish a seafood centric restaurant with price points consistent with the character and nature of the San Vicente corridor, said Steve Rich of Flax and Rosenfield Capital Partners.

“The style of the service will be best described as polished casual,” Rich said of the plans for a sit-down restaurant with takeout service and a full-bar. “Not quite fine dining but more of a polished-casual atmosphere. And we’re looking forward to being part of the community.”

He also noted that the anticipated business is not going to be a sports bar type of place.

“We pride ourselves on food,” he said.

Bottlefish is Rosenfield and Flax’s first venture back into restaurants after selling CPK in 2011 and a multi-million dollar investment in the Brentwood dining scene.

Bottlefish is currently under review by the San Vicente Design Review Board and is applying for a new liquor license with the City.

“[The Design Review Board] looks forward to us being a catalyst for that area, to really be a prominent restaurant and part of the community,” Rich said.

All parking will be valet, located underground. Though still finalizing the menu and floor plan, they’re planning on eight bar seats, 36 outdoor seats, and around 80 inside seats. Proposed hours are Monday through Thursday 11 am to 11 pm. Friday to Saturday 11 am to midnight and on Sunday 10 am to 10 pm.
