The California Highway Patrol Friday reported no traffic-related deaths on Los Angeles County highways over New Year’s Eve.
The reporting period started at 6 p.m. on Thursday and ended at 6 a.m. Friday.
Two people were killed during the same period last year on L.A. County highways, according to the CHP.
Statewide, however, seven people were killed overnight, while five died on California Highways during the same time frame a year ago.
Eighty people were arrested for driving under the influence last night on L.A. County highways, while 61 were arrested last New Year’s Eve, according to the CHP.
Statewide, 329 people were arrested for drunk driving last night, compared with 309 during the same period last year.
