Construction activities will begin soon to build the underground trench for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project alignment between 59th and 60th streets and in the right-of-way from Crenshaw Boulevard to Brynhurst Avenue with a traffic reconfiguration on July 10 follow by pot holing -location of underground utilities-, and steel piles installation.

Tunnel construction will take place in various stages and is anticipated to last three and half years. Metro will provide more details as the date approaches.

Portal Avenue is located east of Bellanca Avenue adjacent to the Metro right-of-way. Access to Portal Avenue in this area will be restricted. Access to business on the east side of Bellanca Avenue between Manchester Avenue and Arbor Vitae Street will be maintained via Bellanca Avenue.
WSCC began working on street improvements on the west side of Crenshaw Boulevard between Brynhurst Avenue and 48th Street in preparation of future construction activities, including removal and replacement of curbs and gutters. As part of those activities some existing parking meters will be removed and one southbound lane will be closed.
