Obama To Speak At Fundraiser In Beverly Hills

President Obama
The visit to Beverly Hills will be Obama’s 22nd to Los Angeles and Orange counties as president.

President Barack Obama will speak at a Democratic
National Committee fundraiser at the Beverly Hills home of filmmaker Tyler Perry June 18.

Obama’s fundraiser comes one day before former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton conducts a series of Los Angeles-area fundraisers for her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination, the entertainment
trade publication Variety reported. There was no immediate response to an email sent to the Clinton campaign seeking confirmation.

Tickets for the Obama fundraiser range from $2,500 to attend a reception to $33,400, the maximum allowable donation to a national party committee, which includes admission to a reception, where Obama will speak, and dinner and a photo with the president.

Tickets for the dinner are priced at $20,000 per couple. The price to attend the reception and have a photo taken with Obama is $10,000, according to an invitation obtained by City News Service.

The visit will be Obama’s 22nd to Los Angeles and Orange counties as president. He has attended fundraisers during 18 of his previous 21 visits to Los Angeles and Orange County as president, attending 32 fundraisers in Los Angeles County on those trips, occasionally attending multiple fundraisers during the same visit.

Obama most recently was in the Los Angeles area March 12-13 for an approximately 18-hour visit when he appeared on the ABC late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and conducted a Democratic National Committee fundraiser.

Clinton will attend a luncheon event at the home of Westfield Corp co-CEO Peter Lowy and his wife Janine; a late-afternoon event the home of HBO executive Michael Lombardo and husband Sonny Ward; and an evening event at the home of actor Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer, according to Variety.

Tickets for each event are priced at $2,700, Variety reported, the maximum individual contribution for a candidate seeking his or her party’s nomination.

The Los Angeles area visit will be Clinton’s second since declaring her candidacy on April 12. She conducted three fundraisers May 7.
