Sunshine and mild weather are on tap, but there will a little taste of winter this weekend at the Rose Bowl.
Two-time Olympic snowboarding gold medalist Shaun White will host an Air & Style show today and Sunday at the Rose Bowl — the first time the spectacular featuring the best in snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding and music will be staged in the United States.
White does not plan to compete in the event but he will perform with his band, Bad Things, and the event is being staged by Shaun White Enterprises.
Organizers say 16 snowboarders and 16 skiers “representing the best in the world will compete” in the Pasadena event.
Twenty-seven Air & Style extravaganzas have been staged in Europe and China since the first event was held in Austria in 1993. The shows offer a mixture of sports and live music.
Two-day tickets cost $189 for access to floor seating for nightly concerts. The price of a general admission ticket is $139.
