Police searched the campus of Beverly Hills High School Wednesday because of the second telephoned bomb threat this month, prompting the evacuation of the school but no explosives were found.
Students were evacuated from school buildings on the 19-acre campus at 241 Moreno Drive about 12:30 p.m., Beverly Hills Police Department Sgt. Max Subin said.
Students were held on an athletic field, and nearby residents were advised to avoid the area because of street closings.
Police closed Olympic Boulevard between Century Park East and South Roxbury Drive shortly after 2 p.m. and reopened it at 4:13 p.m., Subin said.
The bomb threat prompted the postponement of Beverly Hills’ boys’ basketball game against Lawndale. It was rescheduled for Monday, according to Fox Sports West.
A telephone bomb threat was also made against the school on Jan. 5, prompting cancellation of classes and forcing the girls’ basketball team to forfeit a tournament game because students were not able to return to school in time to get to the game. No explosives were found.
