Rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight, who was taken into custody in Las Vegas last week in connection with the alleged theft of a paparazzo’s camera in Beverly Hills, is hospitalized in Nevada after passing out in his jail cell.
Knight, 49, was arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday, the same day that comedian Micah “Katt” Williams, 43, was taken into custody in Inglewood. Both men are each facing a felony count of robbery stemming from the alleged Sept. 5 robbery.
According to TMZ.com and the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Knight passed out in his jail cell last Thursday and was taken to a medical ward at the Clark County Detention Center, where he fainted once again while getting an X-ray.
He was then taken to University Medical Center, where doctors found a blood clot in his lung, defense attorney Julie Ray told the newspaper, which also reported that a judge set bail today at $75,000 for Knight.
Knight — who has a prior conviction for assault with a deadly weapon — faces up to 30 years to life in prison if convicted in the robbery case, while Williams could face up to seven years behind bars, authorities said.
