An LASD Aero Bureau Patrol Helicopter made a precautionary landing yesterday, at 1:45 pm.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Aero Bureau, “Air 7” patrol helicopter was flying over the Century Station area when the crew, consisting of two deputy sheriff’s, heard an unusual grinding sound coming form the helicopter.
The pilot made a precautionary landing in the soccer field of Roosevelt Park, located at 7600 Graham Avenue, unincorporated Los Angeles.
There were no civilians on the ground, in the are of the soccer field, and there was no damage sustained to the helicopter.
No deputy personnel were injured.
At approximately 2:55 pm, Aero Bureau helicopter maintenance personnel completed a minor repair to the helicopter.
The affected helicopter departed the area and returned to Aero Bureau safely.
