USC announced Tuesday it will begin its 2015 football season Sept. 5 by playing host to Arkansas State in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the first meeting between the two schools.
The Trojans’ other nonconference home game in 2015 will be played Sept. 12 against Idaho, which like Arkansas State is a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
The game will be the second time the Trojans have faced the Vandals since 1930. USC defeated Idaho, 38-10, in 2007, improving its record in the series to 8-0. The seven other games were played in the 1920s.
The Trojans seven-game home schedule also includes a Sept. 19 game against Stanford, a Thursday night game against Washington on Oct. 8 in the first time the teams have met since Steve Sarkisian left Washington to become USC’s coach, and a Nov. 28 game against UCLA.
The five-game road schedule includes games against Notre Dame (Oct. 17), and Oregon (Nov. 21).
The two Pacific-12 teams the Trojans won’t play in 2015 are Oregon State and Washington State.
