Century City Chamber of Commerce unveils updated logo

A new logo is set to brand Century City on a larger scale and create a definitive image for the formidable city within a city.
The new logo is set to brand Century City on a larger scale and create a definitive image for the formidable city within a city.

The growth and progress of Century City and its Chamber of Commerce was encompassed in the official unveiling of its new logo on Tuesday, July 29.

The logo is to serve Century City in a handful of ways, symbolizing the city’s continual development and acting as  branding for the city as well.

“We felt that it was time to have a fresh new look at Century City and all of the new happenings that are occurring here in the community,” Susan Bursk, President and CEO of the Century City Chamber of Commerce said. “It was time to create a more modern look to the logo, something that defined the combination of the corporate and the residential communities.”

The Chamber logo has been around for about a quarter of a century.

With Century City having made leaps and bounds throughout its almost 45-year existence, various components of the city’s updated design signify the transformation of the community, as it is now an affluent corporate hub filled with ambitious and intelligent individuals.

The design’s interpretation of the characteristic high-rise buildings is shown through overlapping patterns, and the water of the famed Avenue of the Stars fountains are depicted with three straight lines.

A curved crescent shape makes an appearance in the logo not only to symbolize the sun or moon, but also as the letter “C” to represent Century City and its Chamber of Commerce. The design aesthetically meshes together with a sleek teal and gray color scheme.

Bursk said the design reminded her of paper clips.

“It goes hand in hand with the idea of interlocking, the idea that there is both a residential aspect and a corporate aspect of the city and we’re all here working and living together,” Bursk said.
The Century City Chamber of Commerce collaborated with Thousand Oaks-based creative partner MC Brand Studios during this redesign initiative.

“A number of us met to talk about what defines Century City,” Bursk said. “We tried to define the elements that Century City offers.”

The design is set to brand Century City on a larger scale and create a definitive image for the formidable city within a city.

“Century City was designed as the city of the future,” Bursk said. “It’s known as a modern acropolis.”

In this sense, the conception and revealing of a new, fresh logo befits the forward-thinking city very appropriately and portrays Century City’s maturation.
