Beverly Hills Courier owner Paula Kent Meehan died peacefully aged 82 at noon on Monday, according to the newspaper.
Meehan, a philanthropist and Redken Hair Care co-founder, purchased The Courier in May.
Courier President and Publisher Marcia Hobbs said Meehan was a dear friend and a terrific mentor for her.
Hobbs said she would sincerely miss the opportunity to continue working with Meehan closely.
“It will be difficult to continue on without her, but we will work hard to carry out the vision Paula had for The Courier when she purchased it,” Hobbs said.
