Chelsea Handler is moving to Netflix, where she will develop a new talk show set to debut in early 2016.
The no-holds-barred comedian and author, who hosts Chelsea Lately on the E! network, also will create four new docu-comedy specials for Netflix in 2105. On Oct. 10, Netflix will air Handler’s one-hour, stand-up special based on her latest book “Uganda Be Kidding Me.” The performance is set to be taped Friday in Chicago.
“I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move,” Handler said.
Handler will be working with her Borderline Amazing partners, Tom Brunelle and Brad Wollack, to develop the 2015 specials. Her run on Chelsea Lately ends Aug. 26.
