Charlie Munger has agreed to try to re-engage with Leo Marmol, an architect who specializes in incorporating older buildings into newer structures. A big Coral Tree fell over recently at the corner of San Vicente and Gorham (in front of Starbucks). Arborist Lisa Smith explained that overwatering is a big problem contributing to problems with Coral Trees. Water intended to keep the median strip grass healthy simultaneously overwaters the Coral Trees, which don’t need so much water.
The VA is considering closing the campus to any through traffic trying to find its way to or from Brentwood. Savvy drivers who know the back alleys of Brentwood have used the VA streets as an “escape route†for years. By entering the campus on Eisenhower Drive, one can take a short cut to Wilshire or wind one’s way over to Sepulveda. From there, one can head north or south. The VA might deny access to locals starting as soon as
June 22.
Two deer were accidentally killed by motorists in Mandeville Canyon within hours of one another recently.
