Actor James Denton, star of the ABC-TV hit series, “Desperate Housewives,†goes up for auction at a Block Party on Wisteria Lane, set for Saturday, April 16, 2011 on the Universal Studios back lot. The highest bidder and two guests will get to join James for lunch at Pinot Bistro in Studio City! It’s part of an evening of fun, food and plenty of music, all to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Cystic Fibrosis is North America’s number one genetic killer of children and young adults. It affects the lungs, pancreas and digestive system, causing life-threatening infections and premature death. More than 10 million Americans, or one in 30, are unknowing carriers of the CF gene. The median age of survival for a person with CF is in the mid-30s.
Denton will do double duty – both as a top auction lot and as the front man for James Denton and the Band From TV. “Housewife†Teri Hatcher will lend her vocal talents, joining the Band as a special guest. Performing along with James and Teri will be Jesse Spencer, Scott Grimes, Gary Cole, Jorge Garcia, Bob Guiney and Adrian Pasdar. Special guests for this performance are Chris Mostert of the Eagles and famed bass player Neil Stubenhaus, best known as the main bassist for Barbra Streisand and Quincy Jones.
NBC4 TV Reporter Cary Berglund will emcee the evening’s festivities, which also include a barbeque dinner provided by Stonefire Grill (which is donating all the food !) Party goers will have the chance to win some fabulous and unique items in both the silent and live auctions. Plus – one very lucky person will win the drawing for a new 2012 Volvo S60.
