The event drew City officials including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Deputy Mayor Aileen Adams, City Controller Wendy Greuel and LA County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky as well as heavy hitters from the business and entertainment communities to celebrate “women reinventing philanthropy†, the foundation’s tagline.
Prominent members include many Westside women plus former Paramount Pictures CEO, Sherry Lansing, child advocate Cheryl Saban and author and columnist, Arianna Huffington and even little old me.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of The Everychild Foundation’s 10th grant, $1 million dollars to The South Bay Center for the Counseling Career Pathways Program — a jobs program that will serve 300 at-risk youth in Los Angeles.
