Re: Opposition To Sunset Blvd. Widening Project
Dear Councilman Rosendahl:
Pacific Palisades Residents Association, a volunteer community wide environmental and planning organization in the Pacific Palisades since 1958, was actively involved in the process when the Brentwood – Pacific Palisades Community Plan was developed. Representatives of PPRA participated in the process when the plan was updated.
PPRA has supported residents and Homeowner Associations in the Brentwood – Palisades communities when projects are proposed that may be incompatible with existing single family structures within certain established neighborhoods and are, in our opinion, detrimental to the stability, livability, and economic value of that neighborhood and the community.
PPRA is an outspoken advocate for upholding all the provisions of the existing Brentwood – Pacific Palisades Community Plan as well as all established Specific Plans. Any changes to provisions of the plan must be done through the process of amending the plan, through the public hearing process and established CEQA guidelines. Exceptions to the Plan are unacceptable.
The Sunset Blvd. Widening project is prohibited by the existing Community plan. We urge that the existing plan provisions be upheld.
