The 37th Annual Gracie Awards to Air on RLTV


Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) is pleased to announce that the 37th Annual Gracie Awards Gala will air on RLTV on September 22 at 8pm ET. The Gracie Awards (also known as “the Gracies†) recognize exemplary programming created for women, by women and about women in all facets of media, including radio, television, cable and new media. The awards program also encourages the realistic and multi-faceted portrayal of women in entertainment, news, features and other programs.

“Alliance for Women in Media Foundation is thrilled that the Gracies Gala will be televised to a national audience,†said AWMF Chair Kay Olin. “RLTV provides inspiring and informative programming to an engaged audience, making it an excellent network to broadcast this celebration of those who influence and redefine the way women are portrayed in the media.â€

Hosted by The Office’s Angela Kinsey, winners and presenters at the 2012 Gracies Award include: Premiere Network’s Delilah; Academy-Award winner Marlee Matlin, Best-selling author and Food Network’s Giada de Laurentiis; Academy-Award winner Sally Field; NBC News/Today Show’sSavannah Guthrie; TNT Rizzoli & Isles’ Angie Harmon; RLTV’s Florence Henderson; ABC FamilySwitched at Birth’s Constance Marie; E! and Style Network’s Giuliana Rancic; CNN Early Start’s Zoraida Sambolin; CBS CSI’s Elisabeth Shue; ESPN’s Hannah Storm; and many more.

The Gracies are presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Alliance for Women in Media that supports educational programs, charitable activities, public service campaigns and scholarships to benefit the public, the electronic media and allied fields. The Gracie Awards, established in 1975, honors programming and individuals of the highest caliber in all facets of radio, television, cable and web-based media, including news, drama, comedy, commercials, public service, documentary and sports.
