Giving Women a Greater Voice

Fourteen years ago, Women’s Online Media and Education Network began with a very large mission: to give women (and other lesser heard voices) the opportunity to have a much larger voice over a great geographical area. This unique Internet radio station does this not only by creating new, but also integrating existing media that reach women across the globe. By providing a “platform†or vehicle for women to have a larger say, women can gain credence with their expertise and points of view. The strength of their ideas, together with their ability to reach an exceptionally large audience that would otherwise be impossible, will help to create communication bridges that can lead to a more balanced world and a greater prosperity for all.

The team behind the scene is Founder, Pat Lynch, who is also the CEO and Editor in Chief, Kat Barrett, President and Associate Editor-in-Chief, and Cindy Haffey among others, who are all very dedicated members of this most valued group and have a great deal of experience in advertising, public relations, media, entertainment, marketing and technology – in many cases since the late 60’s. In fact Pat Lynch was the first woman to single-handedly begin a company offering advertising, marketing, and public relations in the South when she began her company at the age of 25 in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1969.

As the company continued to expand media influence, it is now offering programming on WomensRadio.com, a rich streaming content site for women leaders world-wide, and also WomensCalendar.org, the largest listing of events for women (and young adults) thus serving thousands of not-for-profits, individuals and corporations around the World. The new Women’ Radio Channel which can also be viewed at Live365.com; WRMusicReview.com, is an online community that allows visitors to interact directly with musicians, artists, industry leaders, fans and friends with blogs, forums, music, videos, images and more through their amazing AudioAcrobat.com, a state-of-the-art, web-based, audio and video production, streaming and podcasting service.

WomensRadio.com began with this tag line: “Real Talk for Wise Women!â€

The short, fast-paced programs are reaching a larger share of the women leader market: women who are 40 to 65 years-of-age. These same women are pilots of their own companies as well as influential navigators in corporations, governmental agencies, educational institutions, or not-for-profit organizations. WomensRadio actively recruits these same influential women who are producing “real†radio programs for the “Hub†section of the WomensRadio.com site.

An example of the type of media broadcasted is a series of interviews by dynamic women speakers and authors. Just recently Pat Lynch interviewed an extraordinary talent, an amazing survivor, and very powerful speaker, Debra Pauli, who is the noted author of three best-selling books (A Survivor’s Closet; And Then There Was Light: My Spiritual Cleansing; Why We Cry for a Soul Set Free) documenting the horrifying abuses she suffered during childhood. Despite the daily terror, Debra is now a motivational speaker and a voice of empowerment who has overcome almost impossible odds to become a creative, productive leader and a tireless champion for self-realization, perseverance (something that most of us do not really know how to obtain) and tremendous self-fulfillment as the result of her original and authentic trade mark: The Think, Feel, Do Lifestyle.

All in all, the media group pioneered easy to use websites that combine internationally to women’s organizations in Canada, New Zealand, Africa, Australia and Europe besides the United States.

In addition, for those who are female artists, particularly if they are independent woman musicians or vocalists, they will be happy to know that there is a medium now that focuses on their talent This special platform is WR Music Review and it’s currently helping to build a large community of women in music and making sure that they are given more visibility. Since its recent debut, WRMusicReview.com has a growing legion of creative music artists who now have an outlet to showcase their talents.

WomensRadio’s New Channel provides Powerful Broadcast Syndication for the Web. Realizing that not everyone is willing to come to the mountain, it is important to “send the mountain to the people.†This amazing new medium sounds like a terrestrial radio station, and it is something that can be given to authorized sites as well. This means that the sites utilizing this unique opportunity will be able to better attract women to their own websites and keep them there longer.

To a large degree WomensRadio in its current capacity was made possible by a new, innovative and state-of-the-art media tool, called AudioAcrobat, ®, which is the easiest and simplest way to produce and stream audio and video. As the result, WomensRadio now reaches one of the largest, richest and most influential marketing segments available on the Web. This is the group that was part of the 60’s and 70’s revolution, kept their ideals, and didn’t mind working to achieve their dreams. They are traditionally well-educated, have already had at least one career, and are now working on changing the world. Their average income is at least $75,000 or greater. Currently WR is reaching an aggregated audience of well over a million unique visitors per month. Because of their cultural status and core values, WR’s audiences consist largely of women who are considered “Cultural Creatives,†a term coined by the national researcher and author Paul Ray. These women are the thought leaders and influencers of our day. They make more of the buying decisions about almost everything, but beyond that, they do more travel for business and pleasure, make more and larger decisions about office equipment, hardware and software, financial products for themselves as well as their staffs including a host of other important purchasing decisions.

“The Web has been a great teacher. By showing up and participating in the wonderful world of “web,†we have learned the value of cooperation,†says CEO, Pat Lynch. “By being able to embrace cooperation over competition, we have grown and helped others to grow. The new syndicated talk and music Web Radio “channel†called The WR Channel is available to all.? If anyone would like to offer an opinion to be incorporated into our “View Point†section, or anyone has ideas that would allow us to be of greater service – in general or to a specific group of women, we welcome your input,†continues Pat and in closing she adds:

“After all, our job is to give you more ways to have that larger voice!â€
