A Roaring Success!

The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) invited WestsideToday to the 38th Annual Beastly Ball on June 14. Westside residents were amply represented at the annual celebration in zoo prints and safari gear.

The hunt was on for bargains at the zoo silent auction! A thousand guests were treated to a special night of celebration, strolling the grounds after hours, savoring delectable offerings from 17 of Los Angeles’ finest restaurants.

Enjoying the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) Beastly Ball are Betty White, a long-time GLAZA Trustee and host of the event's program, with (left-right) Jackie, Hayley and Taylor Emerson, children of Beastly Ball Chairman Kimberly Emerson, of BEVERLY HILLS.

GLAZA trustee Betty White emceed the show and KNBC TV weatherman Fritz Coleman was the celebrity auctioneer. The event raised $1,208,011 to benefit projects like the California Condor Recovery Project. GLAZA has been supporting the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Garden for more than 40 years, as an educational resource for the citizens of Los Angeles and an international center for the conservation of endangered wildlife.
