The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.934.
The decreases follow a nine-day streak of increases that pushed the average price to its highest amount since July 26, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 6.9 cents less than one week ago and 21.9 cents lower than one year ago but 46.8 cents more than one month ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.905. The decreases follow a 10-day streak of increases that pushed it to its highest amount since July 24.
The Orange County average price is 7.8 cents less than one week ago and 23.5 cents lower than one year ago, but 44.2 cents more than one month ago.
The prices are dropping because “supply issues seem to have been resolved,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
