Culver City Police Make Multiple Arrests During the Week of June 6 to June 11

Stolen Vehicles, Narcotics, and Firearms Recovered in a Series of Incidents

The Culver City Police Department had a busy week with multiple arrests and community events from June 3 to June 11.

Monday, June 3
In the afternoon, officers recovered a stolen motorcycle at Washington Boulevard and Centinela Avenue. The driver was arrested for grand theft auto.

Tuesday, June 4
Just after 3 p.m., the automated license plate reader system alerted officers to a vehicle linked to a murder investigation. A brief vehicle and foot pursuit ensued when the driver fled a traffic stop. The suspect believed to be connected to a homicide in a neighboring area, was arrested shortly thereafter by Culver City Police.

Later that day, officers observed a suspected hand-to-hand drug transaction. A traffic stop on the suspect vehicle led to the recovery of a large number of fentanyl pills and other items indicative of narcotics sales. Four suspects were arrested for the sale of narcotics.

Wednesday, June 5
In the early morning, officers conducted a traffic stop at Washington Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. The driver and passenger, both on probation for burglary, were found with burglary tools and a large amount of stolen mail and packages. They were arrested for burglary.

Friday, June 7
In the afternoon, officers stopped a documented gang member at Slauson Avenue and Buckingham Parkway. The driver, with prior convictions for robbery and weapons offenses, admitted to possessing a firearm. An unregistered firearm was recovered, and the driver was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm.

Sunday, June 9
In the morning, officers received a notification of a stolen vehicle near Sepulveda Boulevard and Green Valley Circle. The driver was arrested for grand theft auto after a traffic stop. Shortly after, officers observed a suspicious subject on Virginia Avenue. A search of her bag revealed a loaded handgun, ammunition, a Rolex watch, and methamphetamine. The subject, with an extensive criminal history, was arrested for the sale of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by an ex-felon. The firearm had been stolen the previous day in a vehicle break-in on Sepulveda Boulevard. In the afternoon, another stolen vehicle was recovered at La Cienega Boulevard and Blackwelder Street, and the driver was arrested for grand theft auto.

Due to an increase in auto theft and burglaries, officers conducted extra patrols in the 5200 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. They observed two suspicious subjects, one of whom lied about his identity. The subject, on active parole, had a loaded handgun with an extended magazine in his bag. He was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. A stolen motorcycle was also recovered in the area.

Community Events
CCPD held a successful free bicycle registration event at the station, offered on the first Saturday of each month. Officers also visited CCHS students during their final weeks of school, offering cocoa, donuts, and encouragement. The department participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and cheered on athletes at the Special Olympics Summer Games in Long Beach on Saturday.
