Trader Joe’s has ‘issued a voluntary recall for two chocolate products because they may contain more than the label-stated “traces of milk.”
The affected products — Trader Joe’s Chocolate Orange Sticks (UPC 00847 162) and Trader Joe’s Chocolate Raspberry Sticks (UPC 00847 122) — have been removed from store shelves.
Both products are packaged in an 18-ounce clear tub.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” according to a statement from the Monrovia-based retailer.
To date, two people have reported allergic reactions after eating the products, according to the company.
Trader Joe’s issued the recall after employees noticed that the chocolate coating appeared lighter in color than expected.
Customers who bought the products may return them for a full refund.
