Century City has secured the area’s first permanent sculpture in front of SunAmerica Center, according to the Century City Chamber of Commerce Arts Council.
“That magnificent bronze reclining abstract nude, lying on a pedestal will be there forever, for all of the community to enjoy,” said Carl Schlosberg, curator of Sculpture Walk 2015.
Schlosberg said the goal of the Sculpture Walk 2015 was to create an environment in which art can come and live permanently, and thanks to SunAmerica – which purchased the late South African sculptor’s work for outside the skyscraper – Century City is fast on its way to becoming the world-class art site he envisions.
“Not only is it incredibly thrilling to know that one sculpture will remain permanently in our community, but it is also very encouraging as we continue to work on possible sales of other pieces to other residents of Century City,” said Arts Council Chair and Founder Jean Tardy-Vallernaud.
