Note:
A follow up to the Grand Theft Auto occurrence that I mentioned in the above crime briefing in which the victim had left his car running at the gas pumps as he went inside the establishment only to come out and find it stolen. That generated a radio call in which officers, having responded to the gas station, were able to investigate the remaining suspects that were still at scene, also stopped at the gas pumps, and still sitting in the car that they had all arrived in. One of the suspects (a female) in that vehicle had repeatedly attempted to use a credit card at the station that was declined. Officers investigated and found that she had ID and a credit card that was not in her name. Consequently, she was arrested for ID Theft.
She also had, on her person, information about the car thief suspect that had stolen the car moments before. Detectives are diligently working these leads toward an arrest for Grand Theft Auto (GTA).
On another note, a HUGE thank you goes out to Ms. Marilyn Krell and Ms. Nancy Freedman for inviting my Captain, Captain Tino Nieto, and I, to attend Brentwood’s 110 year anniversary gala event on Saturday. Their graciousness and generosity afforded us a magical evening. And it was so very nice to meet and mingle with so many of Brentwood’s community leaders and constituents. Brentwood is a very unique community, made up of community ‘doers’ — not just talkers — who also take an enormous amount of pride in their community. This is why Brentwood is, and will continue to be, one of the best places to live (and work!) in all of Los Angeles!
All the best,
Senior Lead Officer Maria Gray
