Starting August 12, and occurring every Wednesday, from 10 am – 5:30 pm, Los Angeles County Waterworks District 29 will have Waterworks Wednesday customer service hours at Malibu City Hall to offer water conservation information and answer questions about water bills. No appointments are necessary.
California is under a Governor-declared drought emergency as the State faces the least amount of rainfall in its 163-year history. The city and the Los Angeles County Waterworks District are asking the community to conserve water and protect these valuable resources.

The City has had strict water conservation regulations in place since 1991. In June 2015, the City modified its existing restrictions for outdoor water use:
- You may only irrigate two days per week
- You may not water outdoor landscapes in a manner that causes excess runoff
- You may not irrigate within 48 hours of a rain event
- You may only irrigate between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM
- Irrigation is prohibited during high winds if over-spray is caused
