The popular hamburger restaurant, The Counter, closed its doors at Westfield Century City mall on July 23. Management released a statement to the public, saying:
“On behalf of The Counter, we feel fortunate to have been a part of Century City for nearly four years and for providing a local option for build-your-own burgers and bowls. However, as Westfield Century City prepares to undergo significant changes, it saddens us to share that we have had to close this location.
“We want to take this opportunity to express our deepest thanks to our guests and friends who have visited us throughout our time in Century City, to the neighbors who have welcomed us, and most importantly, to the incredible staff whose dedication and commitment has carried throughout the years.”
Mary Park, the Marketing Manager for The Counter, said the decision to close the restaurant in Century City “has a lot to do with changes coming to Century City Mall.”
Those changes include the closings of many stores at the mall as a reconstruction project is set to begin.
Despite the closing of The Counter in Century City, the hamburger restaurant chain still has nearby locations in Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, El Segundo, and Miracle Mile.
