A boy was killed in a two-car collision in Huntington Beach last night, a police lieutenant said.
The crash occurred at 7:12 pm at Bushard Street and Yorktown Avenue, said Huntington Beach police Lt. Kent Ferrin.
“One vehicle struck another vehicle causing the second vehicle to spin and strike a pole,” Ferrin said. “The rear of the car struck the pole and a child was in a car seat in the rear of the car.”
The toddler boy suffered major head trauma, he said. The boy was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The mother and an older
sibling suffered minor injuries as did the driver of the first vehicle. They were transported to a hospital for treatment.
“No DUI is suspected,” Ferrin said. The cause of the incident was under investigation.
