Marshall Tuck today conceded defeat in his battle to dislodge State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson.
With all precincts reporting, the incumbent had 2,266,425 votes, 52.1 percent of the ballots cast, against 2,084,936 votes, or 47.9 percent, for Tuck.
Tuck said in a statement released in Los Angeles that “despite yesterday’s loss, I couldn’t be prouder of the unique Coalition of parents, community leaders, teachers, Democrats, Republicans, and independents we built along the way.”
