Viewership for Fox’s coverage of Game 2 of the World Series increased six percent from the record-low figures of Game 1, according to live-plus-same-day figures released today by Nielsen.
The Kansas City Royals series-tying 7-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants averaged 12.92 million viewers, the most for any prime-time program Wednesday.
The World Series won every half hour of prime-time except 8-8:30 pm, when it trailed CBS’ “Survivor.”
The World Series enabled Fox to be the night’s most-watched network, averaging 12.85 million viewers for its prime-time programming, which also included a pregame show that aired in prime-time for three minutes.
The Giants’ 7-1 victory in Game 1 Tuesday averaged 12.19 million viewers, a record low for a Game 1 since records began being kept in 1968.
