The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 36th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.896, its lowest amount since Feb. 27.
The average price has dropped 28.3 cents during the streak, including two-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.4 cents less than one week ago, 24.5 cents lower than one month ago and 3.7 cents below what it was one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 39-day streak from July 20-Aug. 27, 2013.
The Orange County average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $3.869, one day after a 34-day streak of decreases ended when it was unchanged.
The Orange County average price is at its lowest amount since Feb. 25 and 4.9 cents less than one week ago, 25.5 cents lower than one month ago and 4.5 cents below what it was one year ago.
